WATCH: The closing moments of the penalty shoot-out as Birr Town claimed the Counties Cup

The game finished 1-1 after extra-time but the Offaly side prevailed on penalties

Birr Town bridged a 21 year gap to claim the Combined Counties Cup on Saturday evening in Tullamore.

After a thoroughly entertaining 90 minutes, the sides were locked at 1-1 with Johnny Corboy scoring for Birr with a composed finish while Gary Dowling responded for Rosenallis with a volley from outside the box. Rosenallis goalkeeper Paul Friel was in outstanding form and he made four top drawer saves for keep his side in the game.

The game remained 1-1 after the two periods of extra-time where Birr proved far more clinical. They score their first three while Rosenallis missed on and scored one. The video picks up the story from there with Declan Cahill taking the final kick.
