The Irish duo of Shane Lowry and Graeme McDowell have moved into the joint lead at the QBE Shootout at Tiburon Golf Club.
After a steady opening round on Friday, the pairing were in outstanding form in the modified alternate shot on Saturday shooting an excellent 64 to move into the joint lead alongside Sean O’Hair and Steve Stricker at -18 par going into the final round.
In modified alternate shot, both players tee off, then choose the better tee shot and then take alternate shots from there.
The Irish pair's 64 was easily the best round of the day and vaulted them into the joint lead. They hit six birdies and one eagle and importantly did not drop a shot through their 18 holes.
The final round will be played using a best-ball format.
