RTE cameras were in attendance on Monday night at a public meeting about rural crime in Coolderry.
The meeting was called in the wake of the attack on Richie McKelvey who was brutally assaulted in his home in Brosna ten days ago.
At the meeting, Garda officials spoke and insisted that violent criminals like those involved in the Brosna incident, will be caught, while locals spoke about their own experience.
The word that came up again and again as farmers spoke of being the victim of crime was 'fear,' a fear that leads them to lock both their outside doors and even their own bedroom doors at night.
