WATCH: Shane Lowry shows nerves of steel sinking putt to retain Ryder Cup

After a truly incredible day of golf where the American Team looked like they were going to pull off one of the greatest sporting comebacks of all time, it was Offaly's Shane Lowry who ended their hopes with a birdie putt on 18. 

One down coming down the last to Russell Henley, Shane split the fairway with his drive and followed up with a tremendous approach shot. 

After Henley left his birdie putt just short, Shane stepped up and rolled in the putt that got Europe to the magic 14 point mark which meant they retained the Ryder Cup.
