An Offaly star made a big impact on Aussie Rules debut with a goal with her first kick of the ball.
Amy Gavin Mangan was playing her first AFLW game for the North Melbourne Kangaroos against Port Adelaide and showcased her speed and finishing ability with the goal.
It wasn't the Ballycumber native's only contribution in the games as she racked up seven disposals and two tackles as her side romped to an 87 to 15 win.
The Kangaroos raised their 2024 AFLW premiership flag over the stadium before the game, and the pyrotechnics continued as they put in a dominant display in the game.
A former star in Ladies Football for Offaly, Amy played her club football with Naomh Ciaran who won three Offaly Senior titles in a row from 2022 to 2024.
The 26-year-old was selected with the 43rd pick n the 2024 Telstra AFLW Draft. She became the fifth fifth Irish player on the Kangaroos’ list, joining Vikki Wall (Meath), Erika O’Shea (Cork) Niamh Martin (Tipperary) and Bláithín Bogue (Fermanagh).
