A large and slow moving thunderstorm is currently tracking across Offaly as a Met Eireann Thunderstorm Warning is in place for 18 counties.
The thunderstorm is tracking from the Slieve Bloom Mountains towards Cloghan and Ferbane bringing intense rain and localised flooding.
A Status Yellow Thunderstorm and Rainfall warning for Cavan, Donegal, Monaghan, Clare, Limerick, Tipperary, Connacht, Kildare, Laois, Longford, Louth, Meath, Offaly and Westmeath is in place and remains in place until 9pm
Met Eireann says that scattered thunderstorms will develop this afternoon and evening bringing spot flooding, poor visibility and difficult travelling conditions
