Offaly ladies pitch and putt team claim Leinster bronze
Success for Offaly ladies
The Offaly Ladies pitch and putt team produced a strong performance at the 2026 Leinster Inter-County Championship, securing the bronze medal after narrowly missing out on silver following a Back 9 countback.
Represented by Amy Galvin, Lauren Pyke, Linda Flanagan and Denise Pyke, Offaly finished tied for second place before the countback ultimately saw them take third.
Persistent rain throughout the day made for difficult playing conditions, but the Offaly ladies handled the challenge well. In the opening Scotch Foursomes, Amy Galvin and Lauren Pyke returned a three-under-par round, while Linda Flanagan and Denise Pyke produced an excellent five-under-par, leaving Offaly eight under after the opening session.
In the singles, Amy Galvin led the Offaly scoring with an impressive four-under-par round, with the team battling through the wet conditions to remain firmly in contention for the medals.
It was an excellent team performance from the four Offaly ladies, who came agonisingly close to claiming silver, with the final placings only decided on the Back 9 countback.
Congratulations to Amy, Lauren, Linda and Denise on bringing home a Leinster bronze medal for Offaly.
