Ferbane too strong for Ballinagar

Allianz Offaly Cumann na mBunscol 2026 Hurling F Final

St Cynoc's, Ferbane NS 3-8

Ballinagar NS 0-5

(Goals worth 2 points)

The opening clash of Thursday morning saw the meeting of St Cynocs and Ballinagar National schools in the Hurling F Final at a much cooler than Tuesday Glenisk O’Connor park.

The opening seven minutes saw both sides exchange two points each with Adam Egan and Dan Halligan pointing for the Ferbane based school and Charlie Farrell pointing two frees for the men in blue from Ballinagar.

Halligan pointed a free for Cynocs before Niall Martin cancelled it out from a tricky angle. This brace was followed moments later when Adam Egan put a ball into Layton Buckley who finished to the back of the net in the twenty second minute.

Cynocs tagged on another green flag two minutes later after Ballinagar failed to clear the ball leaving four pints between the sides at the half way stage.

The Ferbane school started the second half the strongest with three points in the opening ten minutes, two Adam Egan frees with side of a Joseph Doyle McGovern effort.

Charlie got a badly needed score from a 65’ before Halligan cancelled it out at the opposite end seconds later, and just two moments later both players exchanged scores once again.

Michael Costello completed the mornings scoring when he rattled the back of the Ballinagar net to ensure the cup will be heading towards the west of Offaly for 2026.
