The viral video success of David Meares pulling a gigantic 99 cone at the Centra in Moate has sparked a war of the 99 makers across Westmeath and Offaly.

A host of Offaly shops answered the call to create a bigger and better ice cream tower than David after Centra in Moate challenged other shops to do so. They threw down the gauntlet to shops in Offaly and elsewhere to try and beat their extraordinary ice cream tower.

First, Danielle Buckley at the Applegreen on the Main Street in Tullamore hit back for Offaly, and then Robert McKenna at Corrib Oil in Birr weighed into the argument.

Now, Brendan Deering from Dolan's Gala in Tullamore, Claire from Spar in Ferbane and Sinead Moore from O'Callaghan's Centra in Ferbane have entered the race. See their entries below.
