Clara man dances for cancer

Dermot McCabe from Clara had his dancing shoes firmly on when he recently completed a 12 hour dancing marathon at The Well, Moate in aid of cancer care.

Dermot McCabe from Clara had his dancing shoes firmly on when he recently completed a 12 hour dancing marathon at The Well, Moate in aid of cancer care.

Dermot visited the Midland Regional Hospital at Tullamore recently to present the money he raised to the Oncology Unit, Dochas and the Shoot N Star Club in Mullingar.

Dermot raised a staggering €9,700 which he predominately donated to cancer care by giving €4,350 to the Oncology Unit in the Midland Regional Hospital at Tullamore and €4,350 to Dochas. Dermot also donated €1,000 to the Shoot N Star Club in Mullingar for the Special Olympics which are a cause he has been involved for the last 14 years.

Dermot thanked all those who attended on the night and supported the cause. He also thanked The Well, Moate and the musicians for making the event such a great success.
