Academic award winners ‘excellent ambassadors’ for Gallen CS

GALLEN CS Ferbane held a very successful and enjoyable academic awards ceremony in the school last Friday night in recognition of those students, past and present who achieved academic excellence.

GALLEN CS Ferbane held a very successful and enjoyable academic awards ceremony in the school last Friday night in recognition of those students, past and present who achieved academic excellence.

Guest of honour on the night was Marcella Corcoran-Kennedy TD and other guests included Mr Eamon Dooley (Chairperson Gallen CS Board of Management), Mary McLoughlin (Co Offaly VEC, Board of Management representative Gallen CS), Sr Brigid Moore (representing Sisters of Cluny), Maree Egan (Chairperson Parents Association Gallen CS) and Michelle Sugrue (on behalf of the Sugrue family to present the John Sugrue Memorial Cup for Art).

The proceedings began with a welcome by Deputy Principal Mrs Ursula Finnegan and an introduction by Principal Mr John Irwin who alluded to the praise given to Gallen CS by His Excellency, Mr Loyola Herne Canadian Ambassador to Ireland on his recent visit to the school.
