A FUND-RAISER is planned at The Hoppers, Walsh Island on Saturday, June 30 & Sunday, July 1 to raise funds for The Irish Cancer Society.

And there are several activities planned across the weekend, all designed to provide plenty of interactive fun too.

On Saturday, June 30 there will be ‘Hike D Pike’ – a sponsored fun walk around the village with plenty of characters and costumes to match.

Participants will be accompanied by a novelty ‘Push / Ride’ where all types of small decorated vehicles and escorts will add to the occasion.

Music is planned for Saturday night and refreshments will be available throughout.

The Hoppers Safari Race takes place on the afternoon of Sunday, July 1. It is a fun race, one for all ages, with very little effort required and it should provide oodles of competitive excitement.

‘Shave or Dye’ will follow; the ever popular Today FM endorsed activity that will change appearances for sure.

A raffle will take place on Sunday night with a large selection of prizes to be won.

Music will be provided by a number of artists and they will be giving of their time and talents free of charge for what is a very worthy cause.

Volunteers/sponsors are required for the Safari Fun Race, race cards are available and ‘jockey’s & trainers’ are required for each race - remember there is very little effort required here!
