A Tullamore parent and toddler group celebrated four years of fun and frolics recently.

Busy Bees Parents and Toddler group, based in Tullamore Presbyterian Church, began in February 2009 after five committee members came together and got the group off the ground. Expecting around ten children, they saw 29 children coming through the doors on the first day.

Since then, the group has gone from strength to strength and its Chairperson, Rhona Hayes, was delighted to mark the occasion of its fourth birthday with the current group of children and their parents recently. “ Can you imagine. It was pandemonium on the first day. Nobody would have believed that day that we would have welcomed so many children and parents to our group.”

People quickly wanted to get involved with the Busy Bees group and began donating toys and equipment to get them on their way And, since then, it has been a great four years for the Tullamore based group.

“We are now looking forward to welcoming many more children and their parents to our group in the coming years,” Rhona enthused. The group meets on Tuesdays, between 10 and 12 noon and parents, grandparents, and childminders are all welcome to come along with their babies or toddlers at a cost of just €2 per family.

There are a huge range of toys available for the children to enjoy along with a different planned activity each week for them. . For further information, check out
