UNDER the 2012 Sports Capital Programme €30m will be made available from the National Lottery. This programme had been suspended for the past 4 years.

And according to Cllr Eddie Fitzpatrick there will be no further funding under this programme until 2015 thus it is important that clubs/groups etc that may qualify for funding should apply this year.

He added, “There are significant changes in the guidelines and criteria of the programme when compared to previous rounds. Thus clubs, particularly those with a past history of drawing down funding under the programme, should not assume that the same process and rules and processes shall apply.” Offaly Sports Partnership is currently studying the new guidelines, criteria and application form and is preparing a presentation for interested parties in the county.

The Partnership will host a Workshop on the Sports Capital Programme on Wednesday next, April 4 at 8.30pm in the Millennium Room, Bridge House, Tullamore.
