Through various fundraising projects the Moate Business College Community Development class managed to raise €457.96 for ‘Athlone Family Resource Centre’ which is based in Battery Heights.
Sheena Lawless who accepted the cheque on behalf of the centre noted how she is so impressed by the many students who come on work placement from Moate Business College are as they ‘have a real grasp of work on the ground’ within the area of Community Development.
Sheena along with Sinéad Roarke Development worker, thanked the students for the cheque and noted in particular the efforts of students Kevin Dowling and Niamh Malone for their work within the centre.
