TWO students from St Brendan’s Community School in Birr, travelled to the European Parliament in Strasbourg recently to participate in a debate in the EU Parliament.
Aaron Coffey and Jessica Davis, took part in the Graduate Online Civic Awareness competition and won a trip to participate in the Euroscola - a youth Parliament with 23 students from all over Ireland.
They spent a day in the Parliament debating on pre-selected topics with students from other parts of the EU. The students took in places of interest in Strasbourg and Frankfurt on their trip which lasted four days.
They were introduced to the web-site by their teacher Mr Enda O’Connor during their personal development class.
Both students would like to thank the Ombudsman for Children who sponsored the trip and the Graduate programme who so expertly organised everything.
