Ballycommon played Clonmore Harps in a challenge match last Saturday in Ballycommon in what turned out to be a great workout. Clonmore’s better fitness told in the end with them running out 2-15 to 1-13.

Mass in Ballycommon Church at 10am next Sunday is an anniversary Mass for Dermot Fitzharris, Fairfield and also for Patrick Mann, Bracklin.


Please contact a priest of the parish to arrange a Baptism. These are the Churches and dates for March/April: Daingean – March 4 and April 1. Ballycommon – March 18 and Kilclonfert, April 15.


To arrange a wedding three months notice is required for the Parish and for the Registrar of Marriages. From January 1 to book a Church of the Parish a deposit of €100 is required.


Congratulations to Anthony and Tara Larkin, Carrig Cluain, Tullamore on the birth of their baby boy Charlie Anthony. Another welcome little grandchild for John and Mary Pat.

BOLD Parent and Toddler Group

Presentation Night

There will be a presentation night for Ms Veronica Lynam who is retiring from the teaching staff of St Colmans NS, Cappagh this Wednesday, February 15 in Kilclonfert Community Centre at 8.00pm. All parents are invited to attend. Light refreshments will be served.


BARA meets on Wednesdays at 2pm in Kilmurry Community Centre.

Reunion Night

Ballycommon GAA is holding a reunion night on Saturday, February 25 to honour the 1977 & 1982 championship teams and also the 1984 Centenary Senior League winners. Proceedings will begin with Mass in Ballycommon Church at 8.30pm and afterwards in Ballycommon House for some ceol agus craic.
