Offaly artist launching exhibition

AN exhibition of paintings and drawings by Offaly artist Mairead Dunne will be shown at the Offaly Research and Exhibition Centre at Bury Quay Tullamore starting this Friday.

AN exhibition of paintings and drawings by Offaly artist Mairead Dunne will be shown at the Offaly Research and Exhibition Centre at Bury Quay Tullamore starting this Friday.

Entitled ‘Parallel’ the Official Opening takes place on Friday at 7pm and will be performed by write Anne Egan.

Mairead graduated with an honours degree from the National College of Art and Design and a Masters in Fine Art from the University of Ulster Belfast. She has had several solo exhibitions and has exhibited her work in the UK and internationally. Mairead has regularly shown her work in Tullamore and this new exhibition features paintings based on themes of the uncanny. The exhibition will also showcase a series of drawings based on the writing’s of Francois Rabelais, ‘ Gargntua and Pantagruel’. The exhibition will also be open on Sunday, October 2 from 1pm to 6pm.
