THIS year’s Blueball Vintage Run will be held on Sunday June 10 in a joint effort to benefit two local organisations - Killoughey Community Centre and Killoughey Community Defibrillator Scheme.
Both provide vital services and resources to the community and both rely hugely on the generosity and support of the people of the community to be able to provide these facilities.
All tractors, camper vans, lorries, motorbikes pre-1985 are welcome to take part in the Run. Entry fee is €20. The Run will commence at 11am sharp from Tom Doolan’s Service Station, Blueball where breakfast will be served to all participants from 9am.
The route for the run will go from Blueball to idle Corner - Deevey’s Cross - Ballyboy - Newgate Cross - Mountbolus - Blueball.
Anyone intending to drive in the Run should bring their sponsorship card with them to register on the morning of the event. Anyone wishing to enter the fund raising draw, but not driving, can return their sponsorship cards to their club leader or any of the organisers on the morning of the Run. The draw will held after the Run on return to Tom Doolan’s Blueball or any member of the Killoughey Community Defibrillator Scheme or any member of the Hall Committee.
It is hoped that funds raised will go towards providing a defibrillator within 2KM of every home in the parish of Killoughey and also to keep the Community Centre which costs approximately €9,000 per year to run.
