WELL known Rhode runner, Niall Murphy will take on the challenge of a life time on April 1 when he plans to run 100km non-stop in aid of Autism Action Ireland (AAI).
Like many charity organisations hit by the economic recession, AAI have to fund raise 97% of their revenue to provide vital, life changing services to children with autism.
Niall, who is also the Offaly GAA PRO, has a son, Ryan, who has autism so Niall fully understands the value of providing a quality service to all children with autism.
Runners and walkers will be given the opportunity to run 10km of the challenge with Niall on the day. There will be a launch night for the challenge in O’Tooles pub, Rhode, Offaly on Friday, January 20 at 830pm.
Two well known Irish personalities who have lent their support to the challenge are Keith Duffy and Ray D’Arcy. It is hoped that one or both will make an appearance on Friday night if they are available.
