TULLAMORE Lions Club members spent last Saturday signing up people to participate in the Suicide Awareness SafeTalk Courses that are being held in the Lanello Centre in Tullamore on Monday, February 20 & 27.

Tullamore Lions Club representative Des Henry said he was delighted with the amount of people who signed up for the courses. He added, “The course on the 20th is completely full and there are still limited spaces available of the 27th.”

The courses are being run by Josephine Rigney who is the Suicide Prevention Officer with the HSE.

The courses last 3 hours and they have proven to be very helpful and informative for people to understand how to deal with and see the signs of people who may be contemplating suicide.

If you would like to take up one of the last remaining spaces on the 27th you can contact Des Henry at 087 2547138 or Paul Bell at 087 9778225.

There is no charge for the course and they start at 7.30pm.
