LOCAL Gardai and businessmen and women in Tullamore will go head to head in Leah Victoria Park on Sunday, March 25 in a charity soccer match to raise funds for Barnardos.

The game kicks off at 3.30pm but it is only one aspect of a family fun day with bouncing castles, slides (occur small charge on the day), facepainting, entertainment and more.

There will be an ice-cream van and Mr & Mrs McGuire’s sweet shop will have a stall on the day.

There will be Garda vetted volunteers with clearly printed Ids and clearly printed T-shirts. These volunteers are designated to the area and to make sure everyone has a great day at the event.

Later there will be an after party in the Bridge House Hotel. On arrival food and refreshments will be served followed by an awards ceremony to both sets of players.

Midlands Drama Schools will be putting on a performance and the band ‘The Lost Boys’ will also be playing.

Tickets for the match and the after party are priced at €25 for a family, €10 per adult and €5 per child. Children four and under go free. Tickets can now be purchased at reception at the Bridge House Hotel Tullamore
