Oaklands raises Energy Conservation Green Flag

on Friday October 7 Oaklands Community College Edenderry celebrated the raising of their Green Flag for Energy Conservation in the school.

Co ordinator of the Greenschools Programme at the school, Ms Young, was very thankful to all parties involved in making the day possible.

In particular she thanked the 42 members of the committee, the teaching staff, Principal Mr Connolly, Vice Principal Mr Murphy, the secretary and the caretaking staff.

She also thanked John Foley for his ongoing donations, AES Tullamore, Tommy Egan, Edenderry Power Plant, Offaly County Council and Dermott and Catherine Byrne from Edenderry Tidy Towns.

Brian Cronin 3A, Michelle Beegan 3A and John Foley had the great pleasure of raising the flag at the front of the school. Afterwards there were refreshments in the school along with a slide show presented by Aidan Doran, displaying all the committee’s hard work and achievements.
