ON Friday last a very exciting inter-county table quiz was held in the Grand Hotel, Moate for Foróige Clubs from across Offaly and Westmeath and once the dust had settled, Offaly clubs walked away with the top two prizes. Each club held their own quiz over the past number of weeks in order to select their team to go forward to the inter-county final.

Thirty-one clubs were represented last Friday night and after a very exciting quiz and nail-biting finish, Mucklagh Foróige Club from Offaly were the eventual winners and received a Toshiba Laptop for their Club.

In second place was Tubber Foróige Club, also from Offaly, and they received a Camcorder for their club. In third place was Tubberclaire Foróige Club from Westmeath and they received a digital camera for their Club.

Food was supplied to all participants after the quiz and the District Councils of Offaly and Westmeath would like to thank the Management and staff of the Grand Hotel for the wonderful facilities and also the RYO Breda Maguire for organising the whole event.

Thanks is also extended to the other members of Foróige and the Club leaders present for all their help also. Well done to all the winners and hopefully the event will be repeated again.
