The weather in Offaly is set to sizzle this weekend with some parts being forecast to be warmer than regions of sunny Spain.
Forecasters are saying that temperatures will soar to 20C over the Easter bank holiday weekend.
Thursday will be dry with some good sunny spells developing, in light or moderate, easterly winds. A warmer day, with highest temperatures of 13 to 17 degrees is being forecast.
Good Friday is set to be dry with sunny spells with highest temperatures of 15 to 20C in regions. Some are predicting that Good Friday could be the warmest day of the year.
A forecaster for Met Éireann said: "Good Friday will be dry and warm with long spells of, at times hazy, spring sunshine."
It will continue to be warm on Saturday. It will become cloudier in the northwest with perhaps some drizzle later on Saturday.
Easter Sunday will be mostly cloudy with scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle.
It will be cooler also with highest temperatures ranging from 12C in the northwest to 17C in the southeast and light to moderate southwest breezes.
