Offaly weather forecaster predicts absolute scorcher this weekend
An Offaly weather forecaster has predicted soaring temperatures and widespread sunny spells for Ireland this weekend.
Cathal Nolan, a qualified meteorologist, says that conditions from Thursday onwards are expected to become warm, dry and sunny with temperatures reaching well into the twenties in many places.
He predicts that "a large anticyclone is expected to become centred directly across the country ensuring stable conditions with sunny spells in all areas."
"Temperatures on Thursday and Friday will typically range between 17-20 degrees Celsius, but reaching as high as 23-25 degrees Celsius by Sunday."
Giving further good news to Offaly, Cathal reckons the highest temperatures will occur inland away from any sea breezes.
"The early days of next week look set to remain very warm, dry and sunny," he said.
So, break out the BBQs, pack on the sun cream and prepare to welcome the summer back to our shores!
