St Mary's National School in Pullough marked its 90th birthday recently.
There was a great turnout as a commemorative event took place at the school on Sunday, May 31 with an afternoon of fun, music and celebration.
As part of the milestone, the School and Parents’ Association hosted “The Bog Walk”.
This brought together past and present pupils, families and the wider community for a scenic 25km walk and run through some of Offaly’s best-known natural landscapes.
The route took participants along the Grand Canal Greenway into Turraun Wetlands and around Lough Boora Discovery Park, returning to Pullough via Boora Church.
The special event was not only a celebration of the school’s 90-year history but also a fundraiser to support improvements to facilities and resources for current and future pupils.
