THE Books of Evidence were served on two men charged with violent disorder in Tullamore at last week's district court.

The two, one aged 26 and the other who was 17 at the time of the offence, are charged with being present with others and together threatening to use unlawful violence which would cause a reasonable person who happened to be there at the time to fear for his or another person's safety.

The offence is alleged to have taken place at McDonald's Church Road, Tullamore on September 9 2021.

The Books of Evidence were served separately on both defendants. They will be sent forward to the next sitting of Tullamore Circuit Court sitting on April 18, 2023. They may be sent forward on a signed plea, Sgt James O'Sullivan said.

Judge Andrew Cody told them if they had an alibi they must produce them within 14 days.

The minor was remanded on continuing bail on his own bond of €100. The 26 year old defendant is in custody on another matter but was remanded on bail in relation to this particular charge.

An application for legal aid on behalf of one of the defendants was made by barrister Suzanne Dooner.
