TWO men have been accused of assault causing harm to another man following an incident in Tullamore where injuries were sustained, the local District Court heard.

Dylan McDonagh (25) and Patrick McDonagh (27), both with addresses at Cluain na Spideoga, Cloghan, are alleged to have assaulted Damien Bannon, causing him harm, at Phoenix Bar, O'Connor Square, Tullamore on June 6 last year.

Sergeant James O'Sullivan told the court it will be alleged that a scuffle broke out on the dancefloor and the alleged victim had to be taken to Tullamore Hospital.

Judge Andrew Cody adjourned the prosecutions to February 8 next and said he would only accept jurisdiction if pleas of guilty are entered.
