Tullamore College event focused on promoting students' physical health, nutrition, wellbeing, relaxation, and positive lifestyle choices

Tullamore College held its annual Healthy Living Week, where they focused on promoting students' physical health, nutrition, wellbeing, relaxation, and positive lifestyle choices recently writes TY student Emel Pehlivan.

Throughout the week, students across all year groups took part in a wide variety of educational, practical, physical, and fun activities and workshops organised by staff, TY students, and volunteering guests.

The week included nutrition and wellbeing talks, cooking demonstrations, yoga, relaxation and reflexology sessions, sports tournaments, mindfulness activities, gardening, drama, and workshops focusing on personal hygiene and mental health.

A number of guest speakers and organisations also shared their knowledge and advice on topics such as nutrition, strength and conditioning, exam wellbeing, and mental health.

TY students played an important role throughout the week, helping to organise and support many of the activities.

Although the annual school walk had to be cancelled due to bad weather, the week was still a great success, giving students plenty of opportunities to learn, stay active, relax, and enjoy themselves.

The school would like to thank all the staff, particularly Ms. Dunstan, Ms. Doolan and Ms. Fitzpatrick, all the TY students, guest speakers, and visitors who contributed to making Healthy Living Week such a positive and memorable experience.

Special thanks to the following guests: Tullamore OSPCA, Kenan Pehlivan (The Blue Apron), Claire O’Brien (Dietitian), Jenny Berry (Offaly GAA), Richella Scally (Yoga Instructor), Rachel Dalton (yoga Instructor), Colin Hughes (Drama Colin Huges Production), Tanya Ross (Relaxation and Meditation), Paula Duggan (Nutritionist), Joe Quinn (ASPIRE Strength and Conditioning), Martina Dunne (HSE) and Deirdre Little (Jigsaw).
