Donate this weekend to trucks leaving for Ukraine from Tullamore
Three trucks which are due to travel to Ukraine the Monday after St Patrick's weekend carrying humanitarian aid, are accepting donations today Friday March 11, tomorrow Saturday March 12 and Sunday March 13 at the Tullamore Rugby Club.
The organisers are hoping to fill the trucks with items such as baby wipes, water, canned foods, sleeping bags, bandages, pasta rice, porridge, blankets, underwear, and any other items which people think are needed. Fresh food will not be suitable.
Condron Concrete, Jennings and Ravenhill have all volunteered drivers and trucks to travel to the Polish border with Ukraine and the supplies will then be transported to Ukraine. There will be two people in each truck .
Damian Longwood from Condron Concrete, Conor Jennings from Jennings Truck Centre and Bernard Leavy from Ravenhill will all travel. Also travelling with the convoy is Offaly hurler Ross Ravenhill aged just 20.
John Condron of Condron Concrete said one truck is almost full. The trucks will leave Tullamore by police escort on Monday March 21.
Please be part of this worthy cause by donating what you can.
