The late James O'Connor
ACCESSIBLE Counselling Tullamore (ACT) warmly invites the community to participate in the James O'Connor Memorial Walk, a special event taking place on this Friday, October 17, at Tullamore Harriers from 5pm to 10pm.
This annual walk is held in honour of James O'Connor, the co-founder of ACT, who was dedicated to making affordable, professional counselling accessible to everyone in the Midlands.
Through ACT's ongoing work, James's vision continues to support hundreds of people each year. To date the service has seen over 2,800 clients and provided over 16,000 counselling sessions.
This evening promises to be a memorable occasion, celebrating James’s legacy and fostering community spirit and hope. People are encouraged to bring their families, friends, and dogs to enjoy the festivities which include live music and entertainment, food and drink trucks, face painting and goody bags for children. Our very special guests from Hilltop Alpacas will be joining us.
This event is free of charge, with donations gratefully accepted either on the night or online via: https://www.idonate.ie/event/jamesoconnormemorialwalk25. All funds raised will go directly towards supporting ACT's vital counselling services within the local community.
"We'd love to see as many people as possible come out to walk in James's memory, celebrate his legacy, and help reduce the stigma of mental health," said Lisa O'Connor, ACT's co-founder and Operations Manager. "It will be an evening of remembrance, community spirit and hope."
