A decision is due soon on a proposal to revamp the MACE store in Clara
A decision is due on October 6 on a significant redevelopment of a popular store in Clara.
The planning application by Lambe’s Oil Limited, outlines a major extension to the MACE store into part of adjoining stores, transforming the space with a new deli, upgraded staff and toilet facilities, expanded storage, and a relocated shop entrance.
Additional works include PV roof panels, modified fire escapes, a redesigned parapet with new signage, and changes to the off-licence stairwell.
The project also features external upgrades: demolition of a single-storey structure, creation of 17 car parking spaces including an EV charging points, new loading bay, widened access onto Bridge Street, and a dedicated bin and bike storage area.
The development is within the curtilage of two protected structures, but no changes are proposed to these buildings.
