Brand new footpath onto Greenway at Connolly Park opens
A new footpath has been installed through the playground at Connolly Park allowing access onto the Grand Canal Greenway in Tullamore.
A number of people were already walking through the playground and used it as a shortcut to the walkway. The new footpath will make it a much more pleasant experience. A gate which opens out onto the Grenway has also been installed.
Cathaoirleach of Tullamore Municipal District, Councillor Declan Harvey has welcomed the opening and has thanked the council for the works. ''Hopefully it will make the walk more enjoyable for people and their days of walking through the wet grass are over.''
Cllr Harvey said that Connolly Park Playground in Tullamore was granted €80,000 in August 2024.
The money which was allocated for the upgrade was announced under the Community Recognition Fund 2024.
