Caught without seat belt on shortly after being fined for similar offence

Tullamore Courthouse

Prosecution came before Tullamore District Court

A MAN was banned from driving for a month for not wearing a seat belt after Tullamore District Court heard he had been convicted of a similar offence two weeks before.

Ondrej Josko (29), Cluain Darach, Daingean Road, Tullamore, was summonsed for not wearing a seat belt in a vehicle on the R443 road at Kilcruttin on January 30 last.

Judge Andrew Cody was told he had been fined €400 for a similar offence at Tullamore District Court on January 15 this year.

Noting that the offence before him had been committed a fortnight after a similar conviction, Judge Cody imposed another €400 fine along with a one-month disqualification from driving.
