Jamie McKeogh, from Durrow outside Tullamore and frontman of acclaimed Irish bluegrass band JigJam joined GRAMMY Award-winner Sierra Ferrell on stage last week to perform "Somebody Loves You Darling" during her Lollapalooza aftershow at Metro Chicago. The set also featured a surprise appearance by Academy Award-nominated actor John C. Reilly.
The on-stage collaboration comes as JigJam wraps their North American tour, which included stops at standout festivals such as Whitaker Music Festival, Blissfest, DelFest, and more.
The band is currently recording new material at Zac Brown’s Southern Ground Studio in Nashville, an invitation extended personally by Brown after discovering the group at a festival last year. The historic studio has welcomed a wide range of legendary acts including Kris Kristofferson, Kacey Musgraves, Dwight Yoakam, and the Foo Fighters.
JigJam’s latest single,''Running Back To You,'' is out now on all streaming platforms. The band will follow up with the release of fan-favorite live track ''Shake These Dreams'' on August 15.
