Outstanding Offaly students shine at 2025 Young Economist of the Year Awards

Incredible success for Tullamore College at Young Economist of the Year (YEOTY) Awards

CONGRATULATIONS to Tullamore College's outstanding students who achieved incredible success at the 2025 Young Economist of the Year (YEOTY) Awards.

Emily McDarby and Saoirse Garry were awarded the prestigious Irish Society for Women in Economics Award, recognising excellence in economic thinking and research.

Gavin Connolly, Dara Clarke, and Stephen Byrne won the UCD Centre for Cyber Resilience Education Award for their innovative project, while Kyle Dillon was the winner in the Leaving Certificate Applied category.

Ealga McAuliffe took home the top prize in the Transition Year category, and Ryan Plunkett, Cillian Farrell, Iarfhlaith Flynn Murphy, Nathan Dunne, and Nikita Griedans secured an impressive 3rd place finish in the same category.

In total, 40 students from Tullamore College were named finalists, with 12 students receiving gold medal entries, 4 receiving silver, and 24 earning bronze.

Well done to all involved – your creativity, hard work and dedication are a credit to your teachers, Mr Lowndes and Ms Perry, and to the school.
