This magical image of a wild iris has been turning heads on social media since it was posted on Wednesday morning.
The image was taken by retired wedding photographer, Michel McGrath, on the banks of the Grand Canal near historic Ballycowan castle outside Tullamore.
Michael, who is a committed volunteer with Tullamore Tidy Towns, has a deep appreciation of nature, be it the Grand Canal or the Slieve Bloom mountains.
