An oral hearing will take place tomorrow, May 20, as Offaly County Council seeks approval to compulsorily purchase a derelict site on Harbour Street, Tullamore.

The hearing offers an opportunity for all parties to make additional submissions, raise objections, and clarify key issues. The appointed inspector will also be able to question participants and gather any outstanding information before compiling a report and recommendation for An Bord Pleanála.

The agenda allocates 30 minutes for objectors to present their case, followed by a 20-minute break and a 30-minute response slot for the Council. A Q&A session between the parties will follow, if needed.

Once concluded, the Inspector’s report will guide the Board in deciding whether to approve or reject the Council’s application to acquire the site.
