Disruption to bus services continues in Tullamore as essential road works are underway.

Kearns bus service which operates a number of return services from Tullamore to Dublin and back serving various towns along the way says: ''We will collect from Guy Clothing on High Street or Jennings truck Centre on Arden Road for passengers travelling to Dublin or Maynooth for the duration of the roadworks. The hospital bus stop is not accessible during this time.''

A temporary bus stop is in operation at Harbour Street as the road is closed to north bound traffic at Columcille Street.

Meanwhile the numbers 815, 840, 1159, 4994, and 10062 buses will all stop at the temporary bus stop on Harbour Street, but there will be no stops at Tullamore Hospital.

The southbound bus stop on Columcille Street, (William Street) is unaffected. All southbound services that normally stop at the hospital will still do so.

The Bus Eireann 73 bus to Athlone is also affected and will also probably stop at Harbour street.

The roadworks are part of the street enhancement and will continue until May.

Meanwhile the new link road through Roselawn and High Street has opened. The route is designed to relieve congestion around O'Connor Square.

A new road layout at the Tanyard from O'Connor Square to the car park is now underway and access to the Tanyard from O'Connor Square is closed.
