Snooker legend Dennis Taylor for Offaly event this Sunday

Former world snooker champion Dennis Taylor is in Tullamore this Sunday

Local snooker enthusiasts will have a chance to play the former world champion, Dennis Taylor at an event in Tullamore on Sunday evening next.

The Belfast snooker legend will appear in the Lantern Bar on Kilbride St in the town at an event commencing at 8pm.

The event will feature stories from the past and a night of craic is promised say the organisers.

There will be a series of eight ball pool matches with the former world champion taking on local talent.

The Belfast man, with his trade mark upside down glasses, won the World Snooker Championships in 1985, which was one of the sporting highlights of the eighties for Irish people.

Tickets for the evening are available form the Lantern of from Cue Academy Tullamore.
