Five of Ireland's biggest rugby stars are coming to the Tullamore Court Hotel on Friday, August 21, for an unforgettable evening of stories, laughter and behind-the-scenes insights as Beyond The Try raises vital funds for Cancer Fund for Children.

Irish internationals Jack Conan, Robbie Henshaw, James Lowe, Garry Ringrose and James Ryan will take to the stage for an exclusive panel discussion hosted by renowned rugby coach, broadcaster and commentator Bernard Jackman, who will lead the conversation and share unique insights from some of Ireland’s most celebrated players.

The charity event which will be held in the D.E Williams Suite of the Tullamore Court Hotel has been organised by Nigel Reams of Lumcloon Energy who is taking part in Rory Best's Miles to Mayo Challenge with the ambitious goal of raising €50,000 for Cancer Fund for Children.

Nigel will be undertaking nine marathons in nine consecutive days between September 12-20, 2026, covering over 235 miles throughout Ireland alongside Irish rugby legend Rory Best and a team of business leaders to raise vital funds for the charity.

Cancer Fund for Children supports children, young people and families across the island of Ireland who are impacted by cancer. The charity provides specialist therapeutic support to help families cope with the emotional impact of a cancer diagnosis, whether it is a child diagnosed with cancer or a parent living with the disease.

Its services include individual and family support, therapeutic programmes, short breaks and practical assistance during some of the most challenging times a family can face.

Speaking ahead of the highly-anticipated evening in Tullamore, Nigel Reams said: "This event is about more than rugby. It's about bringing people together to support families who are facing the unimaginable.”

He added: “Cancer Fund for Children provides incredible support when it's needed most, and every ticket sold will help them continue that life-changing work. I hope Beyond The Try brings people together for a great night while raising as much as possible for such a deserving cause."

Guests can look forward to an evening of honest conversation, entertaining stories and unique insights into life at the highest level of Irish rugby. From Grand Slam victories and Six Nations campaigns to British & Irish Lions tours, dressing-room banter and life beyond the game, Beyond The Try promises to reveal the stories supporters rarely get to hear.

Funds raised from Beyond The Try will help support the development of the new Daisy Lodge, a purpose-built therapeutic short break centre currently under construction on the shores of Lough Corrib in Cong, Co. Mayo.

Due to open in Spring 2027, the new centre will enable Cancer Fund for Children to support more than twice as many families each year, increasing capacity from around 1,800 to over 4,000 family members annually.

The new Daisy Lodge will provide a safe and restorative place where families can step away from hospital appointments and treatment, spend precious time together, receive expert therapeutic and emotional support from Cancer Support Specialists, and begin to rest, reconnect and rebuild during one of the most difficult periods of their lives.

Every week, approximately 10 young people aged (0-24) are diagnosed with cancer in Ireland. Cancer Fund for Children supports children and young people living with cancer, as well as their families, ensuring that no child faces cancer alone.

Through services including emotional, social and therapeutic support, the charity helps families cope with the impact of a cancer diagnosis. Their therapeutic centre, Daisy Lodge, provides short breaks and specialist support for families at a time when they need it most

With demand expected to be high for the charity evening in Tullamore, early booking is advised. Tickets cost €40 and are available now at Will We Go. Every ticket purchased helps reach the €50,000 fundraising target for Cancer Fund for Children and the new Daisy Lodge in Cong, Co. Mayo.

Whether you're a lifelong rugby fan or simply looking for a memorable night out while supporting an outstanding cause, Beyond The Try promises an evening of entertainment, inspiration and community spirit.
