Steady second round sees Shane Lowry make the cut as PGA Championship
After a five over par first round that saw him placed at 112th overall, Offaly's Shane Lowry shot a second round of one under part to jump 44 places on the leaderboard and make the cut at the US PGA Championship.
His round included 15 pars, one bogey and two birdies including a crucial one on the par 3 17th that got him up to four over for the tournament and just inside the cut mark. He will tee off at 8.10am local time (1.10pm Irish time) today alongside David Lipsky for his third round
The runaway leader at Bethpage is Brooks Koepka who is seven shots clear of the rest of the field on 12 under par.
Jordan Speith and Adam Scott head the chasers on five under but they have a lot of work to do on Saturday on Sunday if they are to catch Koepka.
