Offaly GAA relaxes 13-a-side rule at underage level
Offaly GAA has decided to relax its 13-a-side rule after receiving numerous phone calls from clubs.
The relaxing of the rule comes at the underage level with a circular sent to clubs from a county official this week.
Clubs struggling for numbers have become frustrated recently and relayed those frustrations to the CCC. Offaly GAA spoke with clubs and referees before making the decision to relax the rule.
The correspondence read: "If a club has 15 or more players they can play 15-a-side as long as the other club has 15 players also with unlimited subs being allowed."
"It is hoped that clubs will do this in the spirit it is intended. If a club is found to be in breach of this disciplinary action will be taken," the official said.
