Offaly golfer Shane Lowry is within the top 20 following an up-and-down first round at the Arnold Palmer Invitational in Orlando.
The Clara man made the worst possible start to his opening 18 holes on Thursday with back-to-back bogeys on the first two holes before recovering with a birdie at the third.
Three more birdies before the turn put Lowry right back in the hunt at two under par and he was edging towards the top 10 when he went three under with a birdie on the 11th.
A bogey on 12 was recovered with a birdie on 13 but a bogey on the 18th summed up the Offaly man and recent Abu Dhabi winner's round.
Lowry is sitting in a share of 18th place on two under par after the first round, five shots off the lead held jointly by Spaniard Rafa Cabrera Bello and England's Tommy Fleetwood at seven under par.
Shane tees off on his second round on Friday evening.
