Offaly forward Nigel Dunne has released a statement on his reasons for leaving the Offaly senior football set-up last week.
The Shamrocks sharpshooter said he felt "isolated and unwelcome" in the panel but also pointed to "personal issues" in his life as reasons for his ultimate decision.
"The manager was aware of personal issues going on in my life. The text I sent saying I was leaving the panel was a result of weeks of an uncomfortable environment for me personally," he explained in a short statement.
"I felt isolated and unwelcome in the set-up. I appreciate my reputation goes before me but this is a different scenario. Now that is that; it's best for all involved."
"Best of luck to the players and management for the remainder of the year," Nigel concluded.
Offaly GAA confirmed his departure last week, insisting it was a "personal decision" on the player's behalf, adding that "the door was open" for Nigel to return to training.
