Offaly's 'Derry girl' to line out in All-Ireland final this weekend
Offaly will be represented in this Sunday's club camogie All-Ireland final in Croke Park at Naomh Brid native Tina Hannon lines out for Derry outfit Slaughtneil.
Tina, along with her Derry teammates, aim to make history this weekend as they face St. Martin’s in their third club senior All-Ireland in Croke Park.
Nine points from Chloe Foxe propelled St. Martin’s to the final of the AIB All-Ireland Senior Club Camogie Championship two weekends ago as a result of a 0-11 to 0-5 win over Inniscarra in the semi-final.
They will face the considerable task of attempting to dethrone Hannon and an all-conquering Slaughtneil side that kept their three-in-a-row dreams alive with a typically resilient 0-8 to 0-4 defeat of Ardrahan in the Donaghmore Ashbourne grounds.
Shannon Graham starred with two points from play in the semi-final, while Tina Hannon and Siobhán Bradley also split the posts as the Derry club once again found the wherewithal to grind it out, winning all the key battles.
Pointed frees by Hannon and Louise Dougan, and another score from play by the effervescent Graham saw them advance to what is quickly becoming their second home, Croke Park.
Hannon was awarded player of the match in last year's final as she continues her successful reign as a Derry girl. The game throws in at 3.30pm
