Offaly hurlers to begin Joe McDonagh Cup with Laois clash

The Offaly hurlers will begin life in the Joe McDonagh Cup with a home game against neighbours Laois in 2019.

Kevin Martin's men were relegated to the second tier competition following a disastrous Leinster campaign where they lost all four games to Dublin, Kilkenny, Wexford and Galway.

There will be yet more rivalry in round 2 when Offaly travel to take on Westmeath, the team they needed extra-time to defeat in the 2017 Leinster Championship.

They will then face Antrim before going to the opposite end of the country in Round 5 to finish their bid for a Leinster return against Kerry.

Offaly's 2019 Joe McDonagh Fixtures:

Round 1: Offaly v Laois, Antrim v Kerry
Round 2: Laois v Antrim, Westmeath v Offaly
Round 3A: Westmeath v Kerry
Round 3B: Offaly v Antrim
Round 4: Antrim v Westmeath, Kerry v Laois
Round 5: Laois v Westmeath, Kerry v Offaly
