Ferbane's dramatic victory over Clara in Senior Football semi-final came at a heavy cost
Ferbane's impressive 3-10 to 1-10 victory over Clara in yesterday's Offaly Senior Football semi-final came at a very heavy price as they lost two players to serious injuries.
After trailing for the majority of the game, Ferbane hit two late goals, both from Oisin Kelly, to seal a dramatic victory. However both Jack Egan and Shane Nally will miss the county final against Rhode after suffering serious injuries.
Best wishes to both Jack Egan and Shane Nally who both look to have sustained leg breaks in Tullamore today.Hugely unfortunate for two great club men.Ferbane panel devastated as both men recieved standing ovations as they were brought away by ambulance. @MidlandsSport @ferbanegaa

In the other semi-final, Rhode came from behind to defeat Tullamore. Trailing by 1-9 to 1-7 midway through the second-half, the defending county champions restricted Tullamore to just one further point while they added 1-2 of their own with Ruairi McNamee getting the all important goal.
Rhode will be going for another three in a row, and a remarkable tenth title in 15 years while Ferbane, beaten finalists in 2016, will be hoping to end a 24 year wait to lift the Dowling Cup.
