Offaly GAA take radical fixture action amid record-breaking heatwave

Due to the current extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 30 degrees in Offaly, Offaly CCC have made the decision to introduce water breaks in all underage and adult GAA fixtures from this evening until further notice.

Offaly GAA has said that "this is not a recommendation it is an instruction."

Water breaks will take place half way through each half for a period of 5 minutes and teams are not allowed to leave the field for these breaks. Additional breaks may be introduced at the referees discretion.

Offaly has a full set of fixtures this week with the return of the senior hurling championship packing the schedule.
